Bio: DJ Funky Bisquits is a Washington, D.C. underground veteran whose roots in breakbeat, progressive house, and underground dance music trace back to 1996, when he first broke into one of America's most influential electronic music scenes. Immersed in the energy, diversity, and innovation of the Mid-Atlantic underground, he developed a sound shaped by deep grooves, driving rhythms, and a passion for taking dancefloors on a journey. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, DJ Funky Bisquits performed at clubs, raves, and underground events across the Mid-Atlantic region, with appearances at iconic Washington, D.C. venues including The Edge and Tracks, while holding a residency at the legendary Low-Tech at Bar Nun. Along the way, he shared bills with respected artists including Scott Henry, DJ Who, Space Invader, Scott Hardkiss, Odi, and DJ Ani, as well as members of the influential Snowball Collective, including DJ Buster, DJ Shamus, Rob-One, T-Rex (Rex Riddim), and Gehno. These formative years immersed him in the golden era of East Coast rave culture and helped shape the versatile, dancefloor-focused style that continues to define his sets today. After years behind the decks, DJ Funky Bisquits stepped away from performing before returning during the COVID era following a move to Austin, Texas in 2018. Reenergized by Austin's vibrant music community, he rediscovered his passion for DJing and began blending decades of experience with a fresh appreciation for the evolution of underground electronic music. Today, DJ Funky Bisquits crafts immersive, groove-driven journeys that seamlessly weave together breakbeat, progressive house, melodic house, and deep house. Drawing equal inspiration from the golden era of East Coast rave culture and today's cutting-edge underground sounds, his sets balance emotional depth, hypnotic rhythms, and peak-time energy. Known for thoughtful track selection, seamless mixing, and a deep respect for the dancefloor, he brings nearly three decades of experience to every performance.
